returned to for a new episode of its star-studded competition, in which celebrities conceal their identities and perform famous songs.
This week, the show underwent a superhero makeover, and the judges, Mo Gilligan, , , Jonathan Ross, and guest judge Tom Daley dressed up as fictional characters.
However, all focus was on the contestants as they took to the stage with performances and clues pointing to their identity.
Tattoo, Snail, Kingfisher, Teeth and Dressed Crab were yet to be unveiled when fans pointed out a major clue with Snail’s accent and suggested it could be a Girls Aloud icon.
Taking to , a convinced viewer posted: “Sounds like there’s a Irish twang… going with Nadine Coyle.”

Another agreed: “#Maskedsinger snail definitely sounded Irish!”
After taking in the clues, a third suggested: “Snail = Nadine Coyle disguising her tone? Dreams that glitter. Can’t speak French.”
A certain fan added: “Snail is definitely a member of Girls Aloud! #TheMaskedSinger.”
While a fourth speculated: “I like the Nadine Coyle guess, deffo disguising her voice though.” (sic)

During the show, Snail shared major clues which left the judges and the viewers rambling with suggestions.
After the player said: “I’ve been schooled in the best way,” Olympic medallist Tom guessed: “Girls Aloud, didn’t they perfom in St Trinians?”
Davina then pointed out that the player was holding a cross stitching of the French word for I love you, “Je t’aime,” which led Tom to suggest that they could be “french speaking,” or “lives in France.”
However, for fans this was another clue pointing at Nadine as Girls Aloud released their chart-topping hit Can’t Speak French in 2007.
While Jonathan guessed Nadine, the predictions included Leona Lewis, Darcey Bussell, Paris Hilton and Amanda Seyfried.
