The rare and lost episodes of Only Fools and Horses
has been adored by fans since the show’s debut in 1981 and is still watched today, however, there are a few episodes which have been pulled off air and viewers can never watch them again.
One user complained that several rare mini sketches of the beloved series had either been lost or unavailable to stream online.
They wrote: “Over the 33 year timespan of Only Fools And Horses, from 1981 to 2014, there has been a number of sketches, aka mini episodes made, that never aired. The list of the rare/ lost episodes is below:
“Christmas Trees (27th December 1982) Licensed To Drill – (1984) White Mice (24th December 1985) Royal Variety Show (27th November 1986) The Robin Flies At Dawn (1st December 1990) Comic Relief Special (14th March 1997)
“I’d like to watch these as I’ve never seen them. Does anyone know how they can be watched? Have they been released on dvd or a streaming service? Thanks for your help in advance.”
Viewers questioned why the missing episodes are no longer aired
Social media users flocked to comment with many issuing a similar complaint.
One said: “I have them all including the full 27 minute Licenced to Drill, got them along with a bunch of fully uncut episodes. Don’t know where to watch online tbh I think the copies I have are the only ones available.” (sic)
Another typed: “Yeah it’s a shame we didn’t see more on that documentary. I was hoping they would air the full License To Drill as the only copy available online is a VHS rip in pretty poor condition, but hey – better than nothing I suppose.”
A third added: “If only there was somewhere on the internet where you could put in the name of a video and it appeared.”

Sir David Jason played the role of Del Boy also known as Derek Trotter
The lost episode, Licensed to Drill, was made in 1984 and had an educational purpose, which was unusual for the comedy series.
The special episode was made so that Del Boy and Rodney could teach kids in schools about the British oil industry. It sees Derek Trotter (played by Sir David Jason) try to make a quick quid by buying an oil rig for £400.
It returned on-screen for a one-off special in the GOLD documentary series The Story of Only Fools and Horses back in 2017.
White Mice is a special edition sketch of the sitcom Only Fools and Horses, first broadcast on 24 December 1985 on Breakfast Time. While the full episode is difficult to find, rare clips are available on YouTube.
Meanwhile, the Royal Variety Show (1986) was performed live and aired on the that same year.
The Robin Flies at Dawn (1990) was a special edition of the British sitcom filmed specifically for the British troops serving in the 1990–91 Gulf War.
Only Fools Cutaway or the 1997 Comic Relief Special is a charity special show in the telethon Comic Relief.
It featured the last ever appearance of Buster Merryfield as Uncle Albert Trotter.
