Brit man Michael Whitbread confessed to stabbing his partner Michele Faiers to death
A Britsish pensioner has admitted to killing his wife in their Italian cottage, after she accused him of cheating.
Michael Whitbread, 75, attempted to justify the killing of Michele Faiers by saying he responded to her “obsessive jealousy”. He apologised for the killing, which took place in the village of Verratti in the central Abruzzo region of Italy in 2023.
He told the trial in Lanciano that his 66-year-old wife subjected him to physical and verbal torment, after accusing him of being unfaithful with another expat woman.
“I wish I hadn’t done it and I apologise”, he told the court.

The confession came on day two of the trial.
After suspecting him of having an affair, she subjected White to “daily verbal and physical oppression”, according to his lawyer.
The trial has been adjourned until February 7.
