Despite his status as the highest-ranking figure in British society, King Charles is said to be quite conscious of his height. At 5’10”, he stands slightly taller than the average UK male, but found himself dwarfed by former model Penny Lancaster during an event at Dumfries House.
The pair met at the headquarters of The King’s Foundation, a charity led by His Majesty, to commence its 35th anniversary celebrations. However, standing next to the 6’1″ ex-Ultimo model left the King feeling somewhat uneasy.
“He commented on my height,” Penny disclosed to the Daily Mail, “So I said, ‘I can do something about that’, and took my shoes off… he held my hand as we walked along.”
This tactic was also employed by the late during her marriage to the King. Both stood at 5’10”, and Diana made efforts not to overshadow her husband.

“For years, Diana wore shoes no higher than two inches out of respect to her husband’s ego,” notes Eloise Moran, author of The Lady Di Look Book, “Since he was the same height she was. “Queen Camilla, who is slightly shorter than her husband at 5’9″, typically opts for low-heeled, wide-fitting shoes from UK brand Sole Bliss.”

On the other hand, stands nearly as tall as the late Princess Diana at an impressive height of 5’9″, whereas towers over his family members at a commanding 6ft 3in – surpassing his brother by an entire inch.
Penny, meanwhile, also dwarfs her rock star husband , who measures just 5ft 10in.
