Judd Trump is interviewed after his record-breaking win.
was told to put his hand in his pocket after officially producing the most lucrative season in history. Trailing 3-1 to Ding Junhui in his Masters quarter-final, Trump stormed back to win 6-3 and set up a Saturday semi-final with world champion .
The winner of the tournament at Alexandra Palace will take home £350,000, an increase of £100k on 2024.
But even if he loses in the final four, Trump will still pocket a significant £75,000.
That means he’s guaranteed to surpass Ronnie O’Sullivan’s previous season record of £1,265,500. ‘The Juddernaut’ has three titles to his name in the 2024/25 campaign, which has been worth £960k alone.
He scooped a massive £500k , and £210k for another foreign triumph at the Shanghai Masters. And last month, he earned a further £250k , some 13 years after he first landed the Triple Crown tournament.
And he struggled to conceal his delight after his landmark win over Ding, thanking the crowd after completing his remarkable turnaround. “It’s amazing to play like that in front of these fans,” he said.

“Coming out here is the best feeling in the world. I’m absolutely thrilled I could play to that standard after the interval. It’s so inspiring to play in this venue. I’m so privileged to be doing what I’m doing.”
Interviewer Rob Walker wasn’t about to let the 35-year-old off the hook though. He reminded Trump of his new marker, with the star humorously replying: “Don’t tell everyone here!”
Walker then joked that the world No.1 needed to buy a beer for every spectator, shouting: “It’s a pint for everyone here. It’s two pints for everyone, with 2,200 straws!”
Trump made breaks of 97 and 125 as he won five consecutive frames to see off his Chinese rival. A measure of his dominance was the fact Ding failed to pot a single ball in the final three frames after previously appearing in control.
But despite his stellar few months, Trump also sent an ominous warning to Wilson and his rival players. “I feel like I’m only playing at five out of 10 of how I can play,” he said.
