Michael McIntyre reveals near-death experience on new series of BBC show

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show is set to return this Saturday, with the comedian hinting at a star-studded line-up

We have more amazing Unexpected Star Stars who had no idea they were going to be on the series but are each sensational including Heather Small, Marti Pellow and Justin Hawkins.”

Michael McIntyre is set to dazzle audiences once again with the return of his show, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, which will make a comeback on Saturday 18 January on One.

In anticipation of the new series, the comedian graced The One Show on Friday (17 January), engaging with presenters Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo about the upcoming episodes.

He divulged that viewers can look forward to another iteration of his renowned The Midnight Game Show segment, which involves Michael surprising celebrities at their homes in the dead of night for an impromptu game show.

Among the stars lined up for this season’s The Midnight Game Show are Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott.

Michael confessed that sneaking in to the couple’s London abode proved more challenging than anticipated due to a lock on their bedroom door, leading to a rather frightening episode as he startled Zara and Sam, reports .

“It’s obviously a risk, a risk that backfired. Because, unbeknownst to anyone, they have an internal lock in the bedroom. Who has an internal lock on their bedroom door?!” he shared with Roman and Clara.

He elaborated: “So, I got all the way to the door and it’s locked. The door is locked, I can’t get in. Then, I can hear them freaking out because they start to get a sense that there’s people outside the bedroom. And they are totally freaking out. They eventually opened the door.”

Michael revealed the moment won’t be included in the main show, adding: “It’s not in the show, and I probably shouldn’t be saying it, but he had a weapon. Yes, I could’ve died that night on the Midnight Game Show, at the hands of Sam Thompson!”

Michael’s show returns with a new series on Saturday, and there’s plenty of other famous faces due to appear alongside Zara andf Sam.

He teased the upcoming season: “It’s also a vintage year for Midnight Gameshows with Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott both being surprised at the same time, Josh Widdicombe and more all are totally hilarious. And there are loads of celebrity cameos helping me with surprises including Jamie Oliver, Olly Murs and Luke Littler. It’s a jam-packed series!”

The One Show airs on weekdays on One at 7pm. Michael McIntyre’s Big Show starts Saturday 18 January at 6.50pm on One.
