BBC Question Time’s Fiona Bruce sparks fury as viewers fume at ‘outrageous bias’

presenter sparked outrage as she was accused of cutting a guest as he tried to speak to the audience.

The show welcomed Sir Chris Bryant MP, former Conservative culture secretary Nadine Dorries; Liberal Democrat foreign affairs spokesperson Calum Miller MP, former Labour adviser and radio host Baroness Hazarika, and economist and Telegraph journalist Liam Halligan.

However, as Halligan tried to explain economic growth to the audience, he found himself getting interrupted by Bruce in the middle of the desk, leaving viewers frustrated.

They rushed to social media to vent their fury, as one fan raged: “Trying to keep the agenda attacking Musk and not the real issues made Bruce look terrible.”

Another vented: “Fiona Bruce is absolutely disgusting disrupting, not allowing @LiamHalligan to answer the question on economic growth. Liam is one of best qualified on that panel to address economy.”

A third chimed in: “Liam getting rightly p*ssed off with Fiona Bruce. If you ask an actual expert for an answer at least allow them to share that expertise.”

A fourth agreed: “If Fiona Bruce stopped asking the panellists so many questions, perhaps the public could get a word in #bbcqt It’s not called the Fiona Bruce Show.”

A fifth asked: “I haven’t watched @bbcquestiontime for years but watched tonight because I’m a big fan of @LiamHalligan. How has Fiona Bruce lasted this long? She doesn’t even hide her bias. The seems to be a lost cause when it comes to impartiality.”

Halligan had a tough time on the show as he came under intense pressure on the show as he tried to discuss the negative effect a rise in national insurance was having for employers.

He began to be heckled by the audience as he struggled to answer the question, as a member called out to ask “what’s the answer?”

as he reacted to to the hecklers, to which Bruce asked: “Sorry, are you calling that member of the audience ‘infantile’?”

Although Halligan quickly insisted he wasn’t, he was met with groans with the audience as he struggled to make his point.
