Severance’s Adam Scott debunks popular fan theory about Lumon ahead of season 2

Severance’s upcoming second season is the talk of the town, with fans eagerly discussing theories about the mysterious Lumon corporation and its confined workers.

After a three-year break, the highly-acclaimed TV+ series makes a triumphant return this week, reigniting speculation and predictions after the ‘innies’ escaped Lumon in pursuit of the truth.

Fan theories have been circulating, but lead actor Adam Scott has firmly dismissed one popular hypothesis regarding Lumon Industries.

Scott, famed for his portrayal of Ben Wyatt on NBCs hit comedy Parks and Recreation, takes on the role of Mark in Severance and recently crushed a fan theory during an interview with .

When confronted with the idea that Lumon might be cloning people, he replied: “This sounds like what Lumon would be doing in a super boring version of Severance.”

Patricia Arquette, Scott’s co-star and the enigmatic Harmony Cobel of Lumon, echoed his sentiment, saying: “You are very far off and wrong.”

points out that these blunt denials from the actors, set against their otherwise elusive answers to other queries, hint that creator Dan Erickson and director Ben Stiller aim to dodge cliched science fiction elements.

Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, and Dichen Lachman are set to return for the second season of Severance, reprising their roles as Mark’s office mate Dylan, new office worker Helly, and the enigmatic wellness counsellor Ms Casey respectively, reports .

New additions to the cast include Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development, Bob Balaban of Gosford Park fame, and Stefano Carannante from Hey Joe, who will be joining the Macrodata Refinement department as Gwendolyn, Mark and Dario.

Gwendoline Christie, known for her role in Game of Thrones, is also rumoured to be joining the Lumon team as Lorne in the upcoming season.

Severance season 2 is streaming on Apple TV+ from January 17, with new episodes dropping weekly.
