However, this extra moisture can cause mould to grow around your windows – so it’s best to take action to prevent it. It prompted one homeowner to try out three recommended methods to stop condensation – and she says there’s a clear winner.

This DIY hack for condensation on windows, also works for bathroom mirrors. Watch til the end to see. A great option where you don’t have Demister pads on your mirror. I did try the bowl of salt (20% effective) and sodium bicarbonate (80% effective). But the washing up liquid hack worked 100% on my windows. Have you tried these ? Tip – make sure the microfibre cloth is clean and dry. When it gets wet, use another cloth.
She said: “Wipe it a few times so that there’s no film left on the windows and it worked absolutely brilliant. The main thing here is that it lasts about two weeks so it does need to be redone.” After seeing how well it worked, she tried this hack in her bathroom to stop the mirror from fogging up after a shower – and says it worked perfectly.
Sharing the other methods she tried, she added: “I did try the bowl of salt (20% effective) and sodium bicarbonate (80% effective). But the washing up liquid hack worked 100% on my windows.” Commenting on her video, one user said: “I don’t get this anymore thank god since moving into an A-rated new build.”
