At the start of January, Brentford boss Thomas Frank was quizzed about Mbeumo’s future after the forward had .
And the Dane dismissed talk of the player’s departure as he stated: “Bryan Mbeumo was really good and I was really pleased with that. For me he shouldn’t be a problem to hold [onto].”
Frank was then asked whether Mbeumo could leave the club this month in the wake of his performance against on Tuesday night. And he replied: “No. So very easy to answer that question.”

Mbeumo spoke to in October following his electric start to the campaign. And discussing his role at Brentford he explained: “I feel like a leader in the team. Everybody needs to take responsibility but I have been at the club for five years now. At some point, you need to be a leader.
“Maybe I have more expectations from the fans or the people outside the pitch, but if you want to reach the steps you want to, you need to embrace this. I don’t feel any pressure. At the end of the day, I know what I need to do.
And he added: “I don’t want to set limits on myself. I think I can always go higher. I want to be the best at what I do, every time.”
