Rascal Flatts has been announced as one of the latest music acts that will perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day festivities on Monday, Jan. 20.
Following news on Jan. 13 that Carrie Underwood and the Village People have been tapped to participate in different Inauguration Day events, the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee released the full list of performers and their respective events in a press release on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Among the acts is country music group Rascal Flatts, who shared in October that they will soon reunite for an upcoming tour after taking a break for the past few years.
Lead singer Gary LeVox reacted to the news that the group will sing at the Commander-in-Chief Ball next week in a statement shared on Instagram.
“I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States,” he said. “I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the commanders ball and I am so looking forward to it!”
He then thanked South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and Mrs. Virginia.
“It will be a night to remember!” he concluded.
Fellow members Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney have yet to comment on Trump’s inauguration.
LeVox’s remarks echoed Underwood’s statement about the inauguration.
In a statement sent to TODAY.com, she said, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
She will sing “America the Beautiful” during Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.
Village People singer Victor Willis revealed on Facebook that the group accepted an invitation from Trump’s campaign to participate in the inauguration.
“We know this wont make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics. Our song ‘Y.M.C.A.’ is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost,” he said.
Willis added, “Therefore, we believe it’s now time to bring the country together with music which is why VILLAGE PEOPLE will be performing at various events as part of the 2025 Inauguration of Donald J. Trump.”
The group will take the stage at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally and again at the Liberty Ball.
The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee also confirmed that Kid Rock, Lee Greenwood, Billy Ray Cyrus , Jason Aldean and Gavin DeGraw have agreed to perform at one or more of the Inauguration Day events.
