Apple’s MacBook Air can be an expensive little pickup, especially if you’re a big Apple fan who wants to stay within the ecosystem. It is perhaps one of the best laptops on the market right now in terms of productivity.

But that price can still sting. But what if we said there was a way you could get the latest Apple MacBook Air for slightly over £300? Well, there is a way.

has cut £144 off the price already, dropping the 2024 M3 MacBook Air to £1155, but its discreet trade-in offer cuts the price dramatically more. Shoppers who hand over an older model will get as much as £850 off the price.

That’s the maximum price offered and depends on the dusty old devices you hand over. The list includes laptops and phones, but could potentially cut it down to £305.

Very is offering a new generous trade-in offer for the MacBook Air – offering up to £850 for your old devices.

So you could get the MacBook Air for a much cheaper price if you have old devices lying around.

That means if you really need to upgrade – or want to treat yourself going into 2025 – and have some old tech lying around, without forking out on the full amount. Even if you don’t have anything to trade in, the current price of £1155 is a reasonable price cut compared to rival retailers.

Sky offers a way to split the price to cheaper per-month rates at £28 a pop – and you’re tied into a 48-month contract. Plus, there’s a £12 upfront fee to add too, overall that’s £1,356. Yes, still cheaper than Apple’s rate but £201 more than Very’s non tradein price.

is another retailer rivalling with its £1,079 upfront price, although eagle fans will spot this on the smaller 13-inch M3 MacBook model with 256GB of storage.

The 2024 M3 MacBook Air is one of the newest in Apple’s fleet and while its look resembles many of Apple’s previous models its speedy processor is certainly the selling point. This is backed by our own Tech expert David Snelling, who calls it the feature that makes it

Essentially this means that you’ll be able to do more editing, 4K video viewing and even gaming without scraping on the performance of your device. Offering a boost in productivity.

The one downside to the model is price, and its features are selling way out of reach for a lot of shoppers. One shopper said: “Sleek and light computer easy for desk and roaming, got the best possible price around but apple products all seem too high priced.”

But don’t want the MacBook Air? Don’t worry because there are other choices. If you’re willing to shell out a bit more and want a more powerful device.
