An expert chef has shared her top trick to get the perfect poached eggs.

Though you might be put off making poached eggs at home because it can seem complicated, this hack is extremely helpful.

account LailasPantry often shares recipes and food hacks. In her video she revealed the steps she takes while cooking her poached eggs.

To get the perfect round egg, Laila says you should use a sieve and a glass. Place the cracked egg in the sieve and let the excess egg white strain into the glass.

She says you can keep the excess egg white for another .Next, grab a pan and add water to it – let it boil until you see bubbles forming in the water.

She said: “Some people would say you need to put vinegar in there, the reason why people say to add vinegar is because it’s an acid and acid will coagulate the egg white protein.”

This will ensure the egg doesn’t break and sets nicely. However, she did not have vinegar at home so skipped this step – though for those adding vinegar, Laila says you just need to add a splash to the water.

Next, you need to grab a spoon and swirl the water at a medium pace. This will create a sort of vortex – when you add your egg to the swirling water the egg will wrap around itself as it spins.

Laila says she usually cooks her egg in the water for three to four minutes. A perfect poached egg has a runnier yolk, she adds.

Next, grab your plate and place a paper towel on it – this will ensure the excess water from the poached egg soaks up. Once the egg white is opaque, it’s ready to take out!
