Michaela Strachan blew judges away with her performance on Sunday night
Meanwhile, Steve Redgrave’s odds have taken a nosedive.
Initially set at 50/1, his uninspiring group performance on Sunday has seen his odds plummet to 100/1.
This development has cemented him as the frontrunner for elimination.
Betfred’s Kayley Cornelius commented on the shifting odds, saying: “The opening night of Dancing on Ice saw an incredible turnaround from Michaela Strachan. Previously priced at 8/1 to win the series, her debut performance on the ice on Sunday night has sent her odds soaring with bookmakers. Now the 3/1 favourite to win, she has leapfrogged Traitors star , who was the previous favourite and now shares second place at 4/1 with Sam Aston.
“However, the same can’t be said for Steve Redgrave whose odds have worsened from 50/1 to a damning 100/1. Unless Steve can channel some of Michaela’s magic this weekend, it’s looking increasingly likely that his exit is just around the corner.”
In a twist revealed by hosts Stephen and Holly, there will be no Skate Off during the first two weeks of the competition.
Six couples performed on Sunday night, and the remaining half will be taking to the ice this week.
Once all the contestants have skated, the pair with the fewest votes and lowest scores will be eliminated outright.
This means Steve will need to put on a strong performance next week to avoid being the first celebrity sent home.
