On Tuesday’s edition of presenters and were in conversation with Mark Charnock about the gripping narrative focusing on April Windsor’s (played by Amelia Flanagan) disappearance.
Since vanishing on Christmas Day, the 15-year-old character has been at the centre of a massive search effort in the village after she stormed out over an argument with her father (Mark Charnock) and other family members.
Amidst heightened tensions in the storyline, viewers saw a chilling moment when a teenager with possession of April’s bank card ended up hospitalised after a stabbing incident, ultimately succumbing to their injuries.
Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) were confronted with the prospect of identifying what could have been April’s body. Thankfully, they sighed in collective relief upon discovering that it wasn’t their daughter.

Intrigue intensified in a recent instalment where Marlon received critical news of April’s location. CCTV footage from central Leeds not only proved she was alive but also showed her running, leading to speculation that she might be fleeing from someone, reports .
Appearing visibly affected while watching a compilation of the emotional scenes during his appearance on This Morning, actor Mark Charnock evidently found viewing the clips distressing.
Host Cat Deeley commented: “You can’t really watch that, can you? You find that quite difficult.”
Agreeing with the sentiment, he stated: “I found the whole story quite – it’s upsetting. It’s so real; they’ve written it brilliantly and structured it really well. Then you look into the numbers and talking to charities, people go through this and it’s unimaginable.”

While Cat pointed out that his character has endured much, the ITV favourite concurred, revealing that this particular storyline is by far the most terrible ordeal Marlon has faced to date.
Mark went on to say: “He’s defined by his kids, like most people are obviously. It’s like the inside of him has completely fallen to pieces. Every day he tries to gather up those pieces by just looking for her.”

Discussing the harrowing scenes where Marlon and Rhona had to identify their teenage daughters body, Mark commented on the profound effect it had on him.
He concluded: “Just walking into that set, with a body under the sheet was just, seeing it back then, it was just horrible, you know. Everything you do in the story reminds you of what people are going through in real life.”
