Silent Witness fans share same complaint minutes into latest BBC episode

Viewers of BBC’s Silent Witness were left scratching their heads during the latest episode of the forensic drama, as they pointed out the dimly lit scenes.

Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) and her team were back for another gripping episode, which saw them investigating the brutal murder of an estate agent who was bludgeoned to death with a claw hammer.

As the team arrived at the crime scene, a newly built property, fans noticed that they failed to switch on the lights, instead relying on torches to navigate the dark and bloodied space.

This led to a flurry of comments on social media, with one viewer quipping: “The lighting budget for this series must be under a tenner.”

Others echoed the sentiment, asking: “Why don’t they put the lights on?” and “Why don’t they put the lights on instead of using the torches? “

One baffled viewer even pointed out the inconsistency, saying: “So the new build has its water connected but not it’s electric?”

The dim lighting left fans struggling to see what was happening, and they took to social media to express their confusion.

Despite early disarray with audience members struggling to discern the unfolding events, many were engrossed by the first instalment of the enthralling storyline, as they pieced together who was behind the estate agents demise.

Viewers heaped acclaim on the programme, with one fan exclaiming: “My goodness there was a lot going on in that one! Even with my short attention span! Slowly starting to come together towards the end though. Can’t wait for part 2 tomorrow.”
