Cameron Diaz is making a triumphant return to films after a decade-long hiatus in the new film, Back in Action.
She stars alongside Jamie Foxx, with both playing former CIA spies who are reluctantly pulled back into the fray when their covert identities are revealed.
This action-comedy marks a significant comeback for both actors – Foxx suffered a stroke in 2023 and Diaz stepped away from acting in 2014 to focus on her family.
In an interview with Empire, Diaz revealed that she was lured back to acting solely to work with Foxx again, following their collaborations on Any Given Sunday and Annie.
She said: “I thought that if I was going to come back and do a movie, the only person I’d come back and do it with would be this guy (Foxx).
“Seriously. I had other opportunities along the way and I was always saying: ‘No. I’m not doing it, I’ve told you… What? Jamie asked? Jamie? Oh, I can do a movie with Jamie!'”.

Who’s starring in Back In Action?
Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx take the lead roles as Emily and Matt, a happily married couple who have left their former lives as spies behind to concentrate on their family.
Jamie Foxx, best known for his Oscar-winning performance as Ray Charles in the film Ray, has also starred in Collateral, Baby Driver, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Miami Vice and Soul.
Cameron Diaz, on the other hand, has graced the silver screen in iconic films such as There’s Something About Mary, the Shrek series, Charlie’s Angels, The Holiday and The Other Woman.
