The Masked Singer judge Maya Jama was shocked over last weekend’s episode
judges were open-mouthed when Macy Gray, still dressed in her Toad in the Hole costume, stormed offstage without a word after her shock elimination.
Yet, according to one audience member who took to to recall his experience, her co-star Bear – who is yet to be identified – faced huge upset too. The superfan of the show alleged that Bear became “very very emotional” after discovering he was in the bottom two alongside the other mystery character who we now know to be Macy.
He too reportedly left the stage – although that wasn’t included in the edit seen by the nation. “What didn’t get shown on screen was how this result affected BOTH competitors, but in particular Bear,” the fan explained.
“He was very very emotional and before performing had to leave the stage. When he came back he gave Stay a try but the performance on TV was not the performance we all saw.”
The audience member’s opinion was that poor Bear “fluffed the first half completely and missed half of the lyrics”, with listeners realising by how he sounded that he was deeply “emotional”. “The editing team did a wonder on it,” he continued.

He added that after hearing Toad in The Hole belt out Roxette, he was left in no doubt as to her true identity – despite the fact that she left stage in apparent fury before so much as being unveiled.
“At this point we all knew it was Ms Gray and it was essentially just a Macy concert. Loved it,” he enthused.
There was shock in store as the audience member continued that he expected Bear to be getting the axe after hearing the quality of Toad’s vocals – only for judge Jonathan Ross to announce the latter was being axed instead.

The Masked Singer’s Toad in The Hole stormed off
Despite , the audience member says he understood her reaction and her failure to unmask herself when elimination was announced, contrary to the show’s traditions.
“Going from a finalist in US to second out in your group is a shock to the system, and dealing with shock whilst your head is inside a massive frog hat is a lot to deal with,” he quipped, adding: “She needed a moment to herself.”
He added that after Macy’s dramatic departure from the stage, the majority of the audience had been asked to leave, meaning some didn’t see either the reveal or the panel’s final guesses.
“As you saw on screen, she was not just ‘p***ed off’ as many have said, she was distraught – and honestly, I feel for her,” he wrote.
“But major props for her for actually returning, unmasking AND performing, it must have taken a lot of guts and she’s a real pro in my eyes.”
