Chelsea ‘could make huge Alexander Isak bid this month’ as club legend has his say

have been tipped to lodge a massive offer for this month by club legend Pat Nevin.

Isak has been in red-hot form this season, bagging 13 goals and laying on four assists for . The Magpies have reportedly slapped a on the Swede to warn off suitors for a player establishing himself as one of the best strikers in the world.

It would therefore take something seismic for the Magpies to sell Isak to a direct rival. But former Blues winger Nevin believes that is not beyond the realms of possibility.

He told Grosvenor Sport: “I would not be surprised if made a huge bid for Alexander Isak this January if they get any sort of hint that he is available. would love him.”

Isak has scored 50 goals in 89 games since completing a move to St James’ Park from Real Sociedad in 2022. He previously enjoyed spells with AIK, Willem II and Borussia Dortmund while rising through the ranks as an exciting centre-forward prospect.

Now 25 years old, Isak is entering his prime, and will be desperate for his best years to be spent in the north-east. But Nevin would be shocked if are the only side to test Toon’s resolve.

“I think he would be the best possible fit for , and if I was him I would be looking at that,” he continued. “Style-wise and technique-wise, can you imagine him playing in front of and Martin Odegaard? It would be scary.

A vacancy could open up for Isak if Nkunku decides to take his talent elsewhere. The Frenchman is reportedly unhappy with his game time as he struggles to fight his way past Jackson, and the Blues could take sensible offers into consideration before the winter window slams shut.
