Strictly’s Chris McCausland hasn’t written a word of his memoir – but release date is set

confessed he hasn’t started writing his autobiography, even though a date has already been set for its release.

The comedian, alongside last month, has signed with publishing director Rowland White to write a memoir about his life.

The currently untitled book is already available to preorder on Amazon and is set for release in October.

Chris, 47, compared his new venture to performing on Strictly before revealing he is yet to start writing it.

The Liverpool-born star said: “I thought Strictly was terrifying but my book has a release date and I haven’t started writing it yet. Don’t worry, I’m going to start right now. It will be really funny, I promise.”

Rowland White said: “Like the rest of the country, I’ve been both gripped and incredibly moved by Chris and Dianne’s dazzling progress through Strictly.

“What had seemed scarcely possible quickly confounded all our preconceptions and expectations. But, of course, Strictly was only the most recent chapter of Chris’s remarkable story.”

He added: “I can’t wait for people to read it all. It’s going to be a huge pleasure and privilege for me and the whole team here at MJ to help make that happen.”

He struck up a close bond with his professional partner Dianne, who demanded Chris give her a “special mention” in his new book.

After learning he had won the show back in December, an emotional Chris said: “It’s astonishing.”

Admitting he had no hope of lasting in the competition, the actor continued: “I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I would go out in the first week or two. I know no one went out in the first week but I thought I still could. We’ve just lasted and lasted.”

Gushing over his partnership with Dianne, 35, Chris declared: “She’s got so much out of me and she deserves this so much. She is one of the easiest people to be funny with that I’ve ever met. Unless she changes her number she’s stuck with me.”

He explained that the rigours of the competition, combined with his pre-existing stand-up commitments, made the tour impossible to fit into his schedule.
