Is your crème brûlée worthy of a chef’s kiss? Does your sponge cake make people bounce in their chairs in anticipation?
A Canadian take on the hugely successful The Great British Bake Off show, the series format sees 10 amateur bakers from across the country competing in themed culinary challenges that “celebrate their diverse backgrounds, families and communities.”
To date B.C. has delivered top-notch bakers to the hit show including Season 8 finalist Jen Childs (Esquimalt), Season 2 Winner Andrei Godoroja (Vancouver), Season 6 Winner Lauren Tjoe (Tsawwassen), and Season 7 Winner Loïc Fauteux-Goulet (Creston).
All amateur bakers are welcome and are encouraged to pre-register their attendance on Eventbrite. There is no prior casting application required. Other in-person casting events are being held in Saskatoon, Toronto and St. John’s.
Season 9 of competition series is set to film in Toronto in the spring and summer of this year. Past seasons of the show are available to stream on CBC Gem.
