Dancing on Ice contestant Chelsee Healey
star Chelsee Healey lost her footing during a training session and took a painful hit to her coccyx, a sensitive bone at the base of the spine.
The 36-year-old, who’s Goldie McQueen in soap Hollyoaks, then fainted and had to be dragged away from the ice by her pro partner Andy Buchanan. Talking with just hours to go before the 2025 season of the show launches, she admitted just how distressing it was.
“I fell on my coccyx, and I got up and went all dizzy, and fainted, so that was actually really scary,” she confided. The actress, who besides Hollyoaks has also appeared in and , quipped that the accident had “taught her a lesson”.
She told the that she has since discovered what her coccyx bone is. “[The training] is intense, and you use body parts that I didn’t even know I had!” she exclaimed.
Despite being more careful since the fall, she confidently declared that she has no fear about attempting the risky “head banger” manoeuvre, which sees a skater picked up by their ankle and then swiftly spun around.

The move has been banned by the International Skating Union (ISU) over fears it can leave contestants particularly vulnerable to getting injured.
However, Chelsee isn’t scared – and she’s revealed the reason behind her nonchalance is her total trust in her dance partner.
“They don’t scare me, the headbangers. I’m so game for the lift. I just really know that I’m in the best hands with [Andy]!” she revealed.
She also hopes that she can communicate a positive message to her daughters about feeling the fear but accomplishing ambitions anyway.

Chelsee, who gave birth to the younger of the two kids, Cookie, just 11 months ago, explained: “I did [Dancing on Ice] to show my daughters that you can be really scared and feel like you can’t do something, but if you go for it, anything is possible.
“I want them to think that if you put the mind to something, they can do it.”
The actress turned ice-skater extraordinaire also has an older daughter, Coco, who is seven – and she’s hugely “excited” to see her mum give it her all on stage.
“I won’t be surprised if she tries to run onto the ice or something, because she’d be that excited!” she quipped.
Dancing on Ice returns to TV screens for its 17th year running tonight (Sunday January 12) at 6:45pm on ITV.
