Europe’s pretty hotspots where visitors have vowed not to return – including two in Italy

A number of have been described as some of the most disappointing and “boring” for tourists, who said they won’t visit them again.

is home to many incredible cities and being so close by, it’s a hotspot for holidays from the UK.

While many would love to visit Florence, Dublin, Venice, Milan and Dubrovnik, some travellers have shared on that they’re not such a fan of these destinations.

Contributing to a thread about Europe’s worst cities, some surprising cities were mentioned among those where visitors would not return to, reports .

One poster who goes by the name of ‘friendlyflee’ asked: “What cities in are not worth coming back to?”

Some were quick to mention Bratislava, in Slovakia – the small city wasn’t a favourite of many who had visited.

One contributor described it as “the most boring city I’ve ever been to”, and user ‘Blue1994a’ wrote: “The UFO bridge looks unusual but isn’t worth a special trip for.”

‘Bkittred’ savagely remarked: “Had a two-hour tour. It was 1.5 hours too long.”

Another mentioned by Redditors was Milan, Italy’s fashion capital.

On , ‘Rustywings’ posted: “Milan was fairly underwhelming. I wouldn’t rush back other than as a gateway to the lakes.”

Another Italian city attracting millions of tourists every year was also mentioned, possibly to the surprise of many – Venice. One person, ‘NArcadia1’, said: “After spending five days in Venice, I see no need to go back.

“It’s an incredibly beautiful, unique, architecturally artistic city and I’m so glad I saw it. But also it’s incredibly annoying to get around, the food is not as good as in other parts of Italy and it’s a little too ‘fake touristy’ for me.”

Further north in , Oslo in Norway was also mentioned.

User ‘Schlawiner’ said: “While I am a big fan of Norway, I found Oslo to be very boring. No interesting architecture, small, not much to do. The nature around it is also not that spectacular compared to other places in Norway.”

Other cities mentioned in the thread were Brussels in Belgium, Barcelona in Spain, Basel in Switzerland, Dublin in Ireland, Dubrovnik in Croatia and Athens in Greece.
