star Rebecca Ferguson has revealed she is in discussions to participate in the , but UK fans may be surprised by which country she’s been asked to represent.
The 38 year old singer, who rose to fame as a contestant on the seventh season of The X Factor in 2010, appears to have her sights set on an even larger singing competition.
Since her breakthrough over a decade ago, Rebecca has enjoyed chart success with four top 10 albums and hit singles such as Nothing’s Real but Love and I Hope.
Now, the Liverpudlian sensation has hinted at a potential appearance at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, this May. However, she has disclosed that she is likely to compete for another country, not the UK.
During a Q&A session on , a fan asked if she would be representing the UK at Eurovision. In response, she made the unexpected revelation: “Well, I’ve got something to tell you… Do you know what? No one’s messaged me… and I… no one’s messaged me to do it, erm, but what’s really interesting is I’ve had other offers from other countries to do Eurovision. And what they’ve said is, ‘You can’t do it on your own, but you can do it as a duet.'”.
Rebecca has found herself in a dilemma, expressing mixed feelings about Eurovision: “So, it’s a weird one for me because I’ve been offered Eurovision by other countries to sing with their artist. But then I’m patriotic to me own country. But then at the same time, I’m like, ‘Well, me own country hasn’t asked me'”, reports .

She further explained her predicament: “So, yeah… I’ve had offers to do Eurovision, but not for the UK. Which is sad if I end up doing it with another country.”
This revelation sent her fans into a whirlwind of excitement, with reactions pouring in. One fan exclaimed: “That’s mad regarding Eurovision!” while another playfully offered: “I’ll sing it with you, whatever it is.”
The Eurovision stage has seen its fair share of international stars, such as Flo Rida teaming up with San Marino’s Senhit in 2021, and Celine Dion famously winning for Switzerland in 1988 despite being Canadian.
As Eurovision gears up for its return to Switzerland in 2025, Rebecca’s candid admission has sparked a movement among British fans who are eager to see her represent the UK.
