New Year, New Me isn’t for everyone – and it appears some commentators have failed to learn from the mistakes of 2024.

The Princess of Wales is already the subject of fervent speculation from so-called fans regarding her next public appearance.

Need I remind those pushing for her to return to the fold that Kate was subject to weeks of brutal trolling and guesswork about her health – only for her to reveal her heart-wrenching cancer diagnosis.

The cruel commentary remains at the forefront of the Prince’s mind, and I am told he will not forget how his wife was treated anytime soon.

Kate’s focus this year is very much on her family. While she remains committed to her role within the Firm, her health scare has hardened the Wales’s family-first approach.

Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, are very much their core focus and Kate and William want them to enjoy as much normality as is possible for children in their position. This doesn’t mean the couple will shirk their duty – far from it; they’ll continue to balance both demands.

Kate will continue her slow and steady return to royal duties over the coming months. She won’t suddenly be propelled back into the public eye, instead busying herself behind the scenes on her passion projects.

Her work on the importance of a child’s first five years remains her main focus, and we can expect a development on her project this year.

There will be public engagements, but these will be meticulously planned and details kept under wraps to prevent disappointment and the risk of a frenzy.

Kate and William will continue to do things on their terms with two things in mind: duty and family. Their support for the King remains steadfast, but as William told reporters during his recent visit to Cape Town, he will be doing things differently.

Let’s let the couple continue to let them emerge from the stormy waters in a way they think is best – and let’s leave the speculation back in 2024.

Love her or loathe her, all eyes will be on this week as she launches her new cooking show: Meghan, With Love.

It perhaps comes as no surprise that she’s already been subject to a torrent of online abuse after just a teaser clip of the series was released.

David Beckham’s secret photo

David Beckham unwittingly revealed last month that he has a picture of the late Queen Elizabeth framed on the wall of his office.

I can reveal that the snap is a bit of a relic, taken in 1992 by the legendary snapper Terry O’Neill.

It’s not quite clear why Becks has THIS photograph but, aged just 17, the year was a memorable one for Becks as the footballer made his debut for .

The picture shows the late monarch in full regalia – including the exquisite Burmese ruby tiara. Hanging the photograph in his office serves as a fitting reminder of the start of his illustrious professional career and a sweet tribute to the Royal Family, with whom he has become increasingly close.

In 2024, he became an ambassador of the King’s Foundation, helped the Prince of Wales raise funds for the London Air Ambulance and attended his first state banquet. Still no knighthood, though.

Queen Camilla and Meghan Markle’s moment to bond?

As a proud owner of two Ragamuffin cats, Gwen and Evie, I know all too well the important role pets play in our lives. They provide companionship, emotional support and unconditional love through the good times and the bad.

My cats always seem to know when I’m stressed or under the weather, nestling beside me or ‘making biscuits’ on my lap.

So I sympathise with the Duchess of Sussex, who took to on Tuesday to announce the death of her beloved beagle, Guy.

The Queen went through similar heartache in November when her beloved Jack Russell Terrier Beth passed away. She’s already searching for a new pup to adopt from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to help fill the void left by the loss of a four-legged family member.

Maybe they might bond over their shared loss?
