Ant Langston, an expert from , has shared that cleaning an extractor fan is a “relatively quick and simple process” that can be done in 10 minutes if you have the right product.
He said: “Exactly what you require will vary from model to model but it’s always worth preparing a bucket of soapy water (washing up liquid will do).”

Your extractor fan will be sparkling clean in just 10 minutes
Most modern extractor fans can easily be removed for cleaning, but for older stovetops, you may need to remove a screw or two.
Make sure to always read the instruction manual or check the manufacturer’s website to find out the best way to remove it if you are unsure.
To begin, remove the cover of the extractor fan and place it in a basin of warm soapy water.
Leave the extractor fan cover time to soak as it will allow the grease to break down and remove any other stains.
Next, take out the fan blade and give it a wipe with a cloth and warm soapy water. Rinse it with warm water and then place the filter and cover somewhere to air dry.
Once the fan is cleaned and completely dry you can resemble it. Turn the power back on and the extractor fan should be completely dry and grease-free.
