Inside rural – and expensive – Cheshire hamlet where The Vivienne was tragically found dead
The rural estate that RuPaul’s Drag Race and star, The Vivienne, tragically died in has been revealed.
The 32-year-old was , at a six-bedroom home near Chester by their heartbroken father and step-mother.
According to police who arrived on the scene at 12.22pm on Sunday, the death of the drag star, whose real name was James Lee Williams, was not suspicious.
A police spokesperson stated: “Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
“Their devastated dad raised the alarm and believed they had passed away a day or two before being found,” a source told the Sun.

“James was due to move to a £400,000 house next week, and had a holiday lined up. They were planning a tour and really had everything to live for.”
In the meantime, The Vivienne was staying in , which is believed to be worth millions. It’s described by Greatbritishlife.co.uk as “a beautifully presented, classic Georgian accommodation set over three floors.”
Chorlton Manor House is a Georgian home that was recently refurbished and boasts many of the original features, including ceiling covings, sash windows, fireplaces, and an oak panelled study.
There are also silk carpets, his and hers dressing rooms a hand painted kitchen and lantern roof conservatory.
The gated home with its manicured gardens is set in a courtyard and is an “perfect idyllic escape for country living and entertaining, all within easy reach of Chester city centre.”

It is believed that the performer was living alone in the property despite its several reception rooms and six bedrooms.
The Vivienne was last seen publicly a week before their untimely death, performing in Blackpool in the West End hit Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as The Childcatcher. Days before their passing, to encourage fans to support a charitable cause.
Their death has rocked their fans and famous friends, and thousands rushed to the comments of their publicist, Simon Jones tribute to the late star, to express their shock.
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage wrote: “I don’t have the words. Utterly heartbroken.” Nicole Appleton said: “Oh Simon I’m so sorry sending you love.”
Sheridan Smith commented: “Oh my god! No!!!! So sorry Simon.” And Ashley Roberts echoed: “Omg! I can’t believe this. This is heartbreaking news.”
The Vivienne is thought to have been living at the property alone
The Vivienne rose to fame in 2019 after competing in and winning the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. The drag star adopted their name due to a love of wearing clothing designed by Vivienne Westwood.
Before this, The Vivienne was already a huge name on the drag scene. They were appointed as the UK Drag Ambassador for the American reality show in 2015 and went on to compete in the seventh series of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars in 2022.
In 2023, The Vivienne became the first drag performer to compete on Dancing On Ice. They danced with professional skater Colin Grafton and finished in third place.
The Welsh-born star performed as the Wicked Witch of the West in a UK and Ireland tour of The Wizard Of Oz musical and reprised the role in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre last year.
