might be sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table, but the Reds could be looking at a mini-squad rebuild in the coming months.

Away from the ongoing contract sagas surrounding Virgil van Dijk, and , have plenty of areas across the pitch that may need addressing.

But before FSG sanction any big-money moves, will likely have to raise funds from player sales – with two surprising members of the squad in particular harbouring plenty of value.

According to , Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are the two most valuable players in terms of transfer fees currently on ’s books.

The duo’s value is somewhat skewed because of the length of time left on their contracts, compared to star players like Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold, who can all currently leave on free transfers at the end of the season.

Regardless, it’s estimated by CIES that Gakpo holds a value of £87million to , while Nunez clocks in just below that figure on £82m.

Below them, Ryan Gravenberch is said to be worth £81m, Dominik Szoboszlai £77m and Alexis Mac Allister £75m. There’s plenty of value in the squad.

While it’s unlikely any of the big hitters will be sold, ’s supposed second-most valuable player, Nunez, could pave the way for future signings, if FSG can recoup anywhere near the £85m they spent on him three years ago.

While his unpredictable style of play has been known to light up the terraces at times, Nunez has never been able to nail down a starting spot in either or ’s starting XI.

A switch to Serie A has been mooted in the past and given Nunez will have just two years left on his deal at the end of the current season, it could prove the best time to cut ties with the Uruguayan.

It’s a similar case for Diogo Jota, whose contract also expires in the summer of 2027. The Portuguese international has struggled for fitness throughout his career and despite being a productive player for the six-time European champions when fit, Jota continues to be plagued by injury concerns.

It means a few attacking additions might be required for across the next couple of windows, especially if Federico Chiesa’s career on Merseyside continues to stall, with the Italian having made just one appearance since joining in the summer.

Add in the need for a long-term Andy Robertson replacement, as well as another possible centre-half addition, and the cost of FSG’s latest rebuild could begin to mount up.
