While Mogan is a gorgeous town worth visiting, reported that authorities in the town have planned to approve a tourist tax in a plenary session that was held last month.

It will be set at €0.15 per person per day for visitors staying at a tourist establishment.

However, it will be the owners of hotels and holiday homes that will pay the tax to the Mogan Town Hall as local councils cannot impose taxes on overnight stays.

The rate could change annually depending on tourism activity predicted in the council’s budget and is expected to come into force this month. The profits generated will be used to improve the local tourism industry and infrastructure.
