This is one of the longest in the UK and you’ll be putting yourself up for a real challenge if you decide to embark on this adventure.

The South West coast path takes ambitious walkers all around the coast of Devon and Cornwall.

It begins at Minehead and finishes in Dorset – along the way you’ll see incredible scenery and stunning sea views.

The is around 630 miles and would take 30 days as a dedicated one-trip hike, otherwise people tend to complete it in parts which could take up to eight weeks.

Crossing some of the most dramatic and in the British Isles, from the Jurassic Coast to the tin mines of Cornwall, it’s an exciting journey to complete.

Along the way, you’ll pass through four counties and there are many opportunities for sight seeing or activities you can take up along the way.

For example, you could take up surfing lessons in Cornwall or you could enjoy the busy promenades of the area’s beaches.

You can embark on this adventure independently or you can book through a walking tour group as part of a package holiday.

One person who walked part of the hike said on : “I met friends for a walk. I was a first timer. I was staggered by the beauty and by the great state I found the place; clean and well cared for. Loved it.”

There are options to complete a guided tour with experienced walkers, and you can even join themed walks such as foraging or wildlife watching if you’re looking to tailor your experience of the hike.

At the start of your , you can see the popular tourist spot of Minehead. This town in Somerset is known for its beach which is a perfect place to explore before you set off on your hike.

At the end of your journey, you’ll find yourself at Poole Harbour in Dorset – a large natural harbour with the town of Poole on its shores.
