Former star Jake Quickenden has shared joyous news with his fans, announcing the of his baby boy with wife Sophie. The elated new revealed they named their bundle of joy Kit Quickenden, who tipped the scales at 6lb 13oz on his arrival into the world on 08/01/25.
Delighted by the new addition, Jake expressed his awe for Sophie: “Welcome to the world little one. Kit Quickenden 6lb 13oz. Born 08/01/25 – As a dad I just want to say Sophie was incredible, thank you for delivering Kit and being so amazing.”
Fellow have been quick to celebrate the couple’s news, with sending “Huge congratulations!!” while Daisy Wood David shares her delight: “Congratulations you guys! ! Same birth weight as Ari he looks gorgeous xx.”
Charlotte Dawson also joined in, commenting: “Congratulations guys, he’s so beautiful and Sophie you look insane!!!” Jake and Sophie exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in 2022 and share another son, three year old Leo. Sophie is also mum to Freddie, aged 10, from a previous relationship, reports

The overjoyed parents had first announced their expectancy for a second child back in July. With heartfelt excitement, Jake said at the time: “WE HAVE NEWS…. soon to be five. We can finally let you know after a long time trying we are gonna bring another bundle of joy into the world. We are super excited. Can’t wait to live off 2 hours sleep again. Have a lovely Sunday.”
Jake Quickenden and his wife Sophie have delighted fans with an endearing montage, revealing their journey towards welcoming a new arrival. Viewers are treated to scenes of the couple sharing the news with loved ones and involving Jake’s son Leo and Sophie’s son Freddie in the excitement.
The video teases with a gender reveal setup featuring champagne flutes and a cake but stops short of unveiling the anticipated colour. Speaking to before their son Kit’s birth, Jake divulged: “We’ve got two in the running I’m not going to give them away just yet. I don’t want to say them, and then we might totally change our minds. I prefer one, and Soph likes the other, so I think we’re going to wait until he’s born, have a look at him, see what he looks like. I’m sure it will cause World War Three when we each want to go with a different name.”
Yet they both agreed on incorporating significant family names.
Following the losses Jake faced- his father Paul passing in 2009 from myeloma, and his younger brother Oliver succumbing to bone cancer at the age 19 in 2013- he shared their cherished memories through their children’s names. Jake affirmed that “Leo’s middle name is Oliver, after my little brother, and the new baby’s middle name is going to be Paul after my dad.”
Jake has previously spoken about his desire to expand his family with Sophie. Speaking to the he revealed: “We are trying for another one. It is the easiest decision ever. We definitely want one more. Our family already feels complete, but we’d love one more. We would love a little girl. That would be the icing on the cake. But as long as the baby was healthy, that’s all that matters. Whatever we had, we’d be happy.”
