With so much so do in the morning, weekday breakfasts can end up being a rather rushed affair.

While some prepare ahead of time, with , others find themselves with just enough time to grab a slice of toast or a coffee on their way out the door.

After a busy week, the weekend provides the ideal opportunity to take things a little slower, with a full English fry up a popular option in many UK households.

But with so many elements to cook, it can end up being a lengthy process, not to mention a messy one, generating lots of pots and pans to wash up.

With that in mind, the kitchen and food experts at have revealed how you can make a full English breakfast in just five minutes.

Here’s everything you’ll need to make a full English breakfast for one person.

Five-minute full English breakfast recipe

Ingredients

  • One sausage (pre-cooked or quick-cook)
  • One rasher of bacon
  • An egg
  • 1/2 cup baked beans (from a tin)
  • One tomato, halved
  • A slice of bread
  • One or two mushrooms, sliced (optional)

Method

First, place the baked beans in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high as per the instructions on the tin. Set aside.

Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan over high heat and quickly brown the pre-cooked/quick-cook sausage and the bacon for about one minute per side. Make sure all the meat is cooked through.

While the sausage and bacon are cooking, pop the bread into the toaster.

Then, push the sausage and bacon to one side of the pan, turn the heat up and crack an egg into the empty space.

Add the halved tomato (cut side down) next to it and cook for one minute until the egg white is set but the yolk is still runny.

Plate and serve immediately, adding seasoning and ketchup or brown sauce as desired.
