The majority of his £80 million estate went to his wife, Iman, and his two children; son Duncan Zowie Jones and daughter Alexandria “Lexi” Zahra Jones, according to the singer’s will that was filed in New York in 2016.

Duncan Jones, originally named Zowie Bowie, was the musician’s son with his first wife, Mary ‘Angie’ Angela Barnett, who he divorced in 1980 after 10 years of marriage.

Bowie welcomed Lexi with Iman in 2000, eight years after they tied the knot.

He left half of his net worth and his SoHo apartment in New York to Aman. Each of his children received 25 percent of his estate, with Lexi also inheriting a property in Little Tonshi, near Woodstock.

Additionally, his long-time assistant, Corinne Schwab, was set to receive £1.5million, and his friend Marion Skene, Duncan’s former nanny, was to receive nearly £800,000.

Aside from those mentioned, all other properties and the remainder of his wealth were to go to Iman, as reported in the Daily News. The final provisions in Bowie’s will pertained to his funeral arrangements.

He insisted there would be no funeral for him and requested that his ashes be scattered in Bali during a private Buddhist ceremony. Bowie accumulated an impressive wealth throughout his lifetime.

He remained active in his work until his final days, with his last public appearance being at the premiere of his Broadway musical, Lazarus, in November 2015.

Shortly after, his final album Blackstar was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, preceding his death on January 10.

Bowie was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2014 and discovered his illness was terminal three months before his death. A statement was issued announcing his passing, saying he “died peacefully, surrounded by his family”.
