Hannah Neeleman, known as “Ballerina Farm” to her nearly 10 million followers on TikTok, has left Utah for a “very big adventure,” she explained in a recent series of TikToks.
She and her husband, Daniel Neeleman, traveled with their eight children to Ireland where they will live for a period of time while the couple attends school at Ballymaloe Cookery School.
The school is located in Shanagarry, County Cork, Ireland, which is about 160 miles south of Dublin. It offers 12-week courses on its 100-acre organic farm, according to its website.
Hannah Neeleman, who is known for her homesteading videos on her family’s Utah farm, first posted about the temporary move on Jan. 7, 2025.
“We will be away for some time which means there has been a lot of packing and organizing to keep things running at the farm while we’re away,” she said. The couple’s farm sells a variety of goods online, including sourdough starters, fresh meat and more.
Hannah Neeleman soon followed up with a video revealing that the couple was attending the culinary program as she and her husband debuted their chef coats.
The move comes approximately five months after the couple was the focus of a controversy when the London-based publication “The Times” published an article critical of the couple’s marriage.
“Times” reporter Megan Agnew visited the family’s Kamas, Utah, farm and wrote about Hannah Neeleman caring for all eight children without a nanny because, as the reporter wrote, “Daniel didn’t want nannies in the house.” Agnew also recounted Daniel Neeleman telling her that at times, his wife becomes “so ill from exhaustion that she can’t get out of bed for a week.” She also quoted Hannah Neeleman’s reflections on her time as a ballerina in New York City but leaving that behind to support her husband’s ambitions.
The article was met with outcry across social media as readers were concerned about Hannah Neeleman’s well-being. She spoke out on TikTok and Instagram on July 31 addressing the article and its response.
“A couple of weeks ago, we had a reporter come into our home to learn more about our family and business,” she says in the video. “We thought the interview went really well, very similar to the dozens of interviews we had done in recent memory.”
“We were taken back, however, when we saw the printed article, which shocked us and shocked the world by being an attack on our family and my marriage, portraying me as oppressed with my husband being the culprit. This couldn’t be further from the truth,” she said, as she spoke about her relationship with her husband.
