Former second lady Karen Pence appeared to snub President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
Video shows Trump shaking hands with former Vice President Al Gore and then his own former vice president, Mike Pence. Both men stand to shake Trump’s hand, but Karen Pence remains seated. As Trump pauses in front of Karen Pence, she looks down. Mike Pence and former first lady Melania Trump also shake hands, but Karen Pence appears to avoid Melania Trump, as well.
Carter’s funeral at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., marks the first time Trump and his former vice president have been together publicly since a mob of Trump’s supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
