First lady Jill Biden posts first photo of great-grandson, William

Jill Biden introduced her and President Joe Biden’s first great-grandchild to the world — and Instagram — Jan. 8 by sharing the first photos of Naomi Biden’s son.

The president holds his great-grandson while the first lady adjusts his hat in a photo Jill Biden posted Wednesday to Instagram.

“We are proud to introduce you to our great-grandson: William Brannon Neal, IV,” she wrote in the caption.

William was born at 10 pounds, four ounces in California, the president said at a news briefing Jan. 8 for the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles.

“The good news is, I’m a great-grandfather as of today,” Biden told reporters.

Naomi Biden, the daughter of Hunter Biden and Kathleen Buhle, announced her pregnancy in November 2023 by sharing a photo of her baby bump to her Instagram story.

William is her first child with husband Peter Neal, and the first great-grandchild of Joe and Jill Biden. Joe Biden has two living children and seven grandchildren.

Naomi Biden, Joe Biden’s oldest grandchild,married in November 2022 at the White House. In an interview with Vogue, Naomi Biden said she lived at the presidential residence while planning the wedding and reflected that her relationship with her grandfather “hasn’t changed all that much.”

“When I was in middle school, we lived so close, and they were at every sports game and our school plays. We still do the same things. It’s always been this way,” she said at the time.
