Ant Middleton shared an update on his bid to become London’s next mayor, with plans to replace and promising to tackle the city’s serious crime issues and restore what he calls “British culture” to the capital.

The former presenter has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with London’s current state, describing it as “rotting from its core” and labelling it as one of the murder capitals of the world.

In a fresh update shared today, (January 8) he seemingly hinted he would represent Reform UK as their candidate for London mayor

Posting on X, Middleton penned: “My country is calling me once again! I’ve fought for it once before and I WILL come back and serve it again! Standby, standby…”

The Special Boat Service veteran and SAS: Who Dares Wins star had previously claimed Britain was “rotting to its core” and outlined his wish to run with a promise to “cleanse” the capital of crime.

It follows an earlier reply where he promised: “I’ll come back to the UK but switching TV for Politics! There’s a storm brewing and we all know that I love a storm.”

He was sacked from his job as presenter of TV show SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2021 after a series of controversial tweets.

Ant now lives in Dubai after moving there three years ago after he claims his voice was “silenced here in the UK”, GB News reported. He said: “I don’t agree with the culture and when I do not agree with the layout of the land, then I’m gone.”

Middleton has laid out a stringent plan for the city if he were to become mayor. He posted a series of “priorities” to address London’s knife crisis: “Priority number one; Cleanse it from being one of the murder capitals of the world,” he detailed on X.

He continued: “Cleanse it from knives, machetes and guns that are not only killing UK citizens but also our children. Cleanse it from minors & woman being harassed and abused.”

He didn’t just stop at crime; his vision extends to cleaning up the city’s infrastructure and public services. “Cleanse its roads from illegal vehicles (and drivers) that are being used to commit countless crimes on a daily basis. Cleanse it from the ridiculous charges that it imposes on an already heavily taxed country. Cleanse the tube, public transport and streets, they’re disgusting for a capital city. Cleanse the ridiculously low and double standards of our Metropolitan Police Force so everyone is treated fairly but predominantly feel safe to roam its historic streets.”

In his call to elevate British values, Middleton said, “Reinstate, celebrate and place to the forefront our wonderful British culture, heritage, values and morals and make London the heartbeat of our country once again. London must set and lead by example.”
