Sir Cliff Richard offered a five word jibe at musicians who do one thing
Highly-acclaimed singer has aimed a five-word jibe at fellow musicians ‘who make comebacks’.
In a recent interview, the much-adored crooner aired his views on one particular trait that he has noticed in his musical peers, and has suggested why he thinks it might be happening.
Chatting to Woman’s Weekly, the 84-year-old fired a five-word dig at fellow artists as he said: “Artists have finished, and then they make four comebacks. And every time I hear of a comeback, I think: ‘They’ve run out of money!’

“And I don’t want people to say that about me. I would rather stop. I don’t have to announce, Oh, I’ve stopped.”
Meanwhile, as he said that some other artists tend to announce that they have retired only to make a ‘comeback’ further down the line, Sir Cliff claims that he prefers a different approach: “I can just wait a couple of years, maybe… retire for two years but don’t tell anybody and book the Albert Hall two years beforehand.”
With Sir Cliff showing no signs of calling time on his musical career any time soon despite being 84, he recently gave a rare insight into how he has managed to stay in such good shape for so long: “I always say to people, you know, just keep moving. If you can run, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. Just keep everything moving and I think that’s helped me a great deal.”
