Hideo Kojima’s love of film is plain to see in his upcoming horror release ‘OD’
Acclaimed video game designer Hideo Kojima has given his fans a glimpse into his viewing habits, revealing his top picks from the world of film and television in 2024.
As the mastermind behind the genre-defining Metal Gear game in 1986 and the more recent Death Stranding in 2019, Kojima has long been at the forefront of innovative game design. His passion for cinema is equally evident, with his bio humorously stating that “70 per cent of my body is made of movies”.
This love of film has also influenced his work, as seen in his upcoming horror game collaboration with Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele. The partnership was born out of a mutual admiration, with Kojima explaining: “We met on my podcast and we found out that we were mutual fans of each other… Since then, we’ve met several times and we talked about wanting to work together and he’s going to participate in OD.”
Kojima has also assembled a team of industry heavyweights, affectionately dubbed ‘The Avengers’, to work on the highly anticipated release known only as ‘OD’.
