It’s being launched first in Korea, but should pretty accurately indicate the model we’ll get in Canada for 2026
- Genesis has unveiled updates to the all-electric GV60 for Korea
- Expect the redesign to come to Canada for the 2026 model year
- Changes include styling refreshes and a new single-display screen
Genesis is the luxury division of Hyundai, of course. The GV60 is the entry model of the brand’s all-electric offerings, alongside the Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80; and is the only one that comes only as a plug-in, without a corresponding gasoline version alongside.
While the vehicle’s overall appearance doesn’t change dramatically, it gets a new bumper and new smaller LED headlamp elements, known as Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology. The wheel-well cladding, fender garnishes, and rear skid plate are now body-colour, and it wears new five-spoke 21-inch wheels.
There’s a new three-spoke steering wheel, but the most noticeable change is a 27-inch screen atop the dash, which incorporates the instrument cluster and infotainment system as a single display, in place of the current screen with a bezel between them.
There’s no word yet on any changes beneath the skin, and Genesis will provide specifications closer to the GV60’s launch in Korea in the first quarter of 2025.
In Canada, the GV60 uses a 77.4-kWh lithium-ion battery and has standard all-wheel-drive (AWD). In Advanced trim, that battery feeds electric motors making 314 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. The Performance trim makes 429 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque, and has a “Boost” button that can temporarily raise that to 483 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Range is up to 399 km (248 miles) for the Advanced, and up to 378 (235) for the Performance; and for the 2025 model, pricing is $73,000 and $81,000 respectively, including delivery as per Genesis’ all-in pricing.
