A new study has found the most searched car brands across the world, with vehicles in high-demand likely to gain more attention and higher prices on the .

Whilst the fell by 4.7 % during November 2024, some models with a strong reputation, good performance, and attractive styling can still fetch good money on the market.

According to the latest study by , the most searched car company in the UK during 2024 was .

The has a solid reputation from owners due to its range of innovative and practical electric vehicles, spanning from the Model 3 family hatchback to the high-performance Model S Plaid, which can accelerate from 0-60mph in under two seconds.

Despite the company recently experiencing its first global decline in sales during 2024, falling 1.1 % compared to 2023 figures, the SUV was the ninth in the UK from January to November 2024.

Whilst Tesla also held the title of being the most searched car company in a number of other countries, including America, Canada, and Germany, Compare the Market AU noted that it was not the top car company worldwide.

Instead, Toyota was ranked the world’s most searched-for car brand, gaining the top spot in 64 different countries due to their solid reputation for build quality and reliability.

The long-established Japanese brand makes a wide range of cars, spanning from the tiny Aygo X to the 429-horsepower GR Supra. However, their top selling model is still the humble Corolla range of hatchbacks and saloons, which the company has built a staggering 12 generations of since 1966.

Finally, whilst many motorists typically focus on value for money and running costs when buying a new or used model, Compare the Market AU highlighted that BMW was the most searched car company in no fewer than 30 countries.

The German performance brand regularly gets high marks in reliability surveys, with owners stating that their car is surprisingly practical and enjoyable to drive.

In particular, BMW was the most searched-for brand in countries including Spain, Greece, and even China, where the brand has partnered with Brilliance Automotive Ltd to assemble models locally.
