Robert De Niro broke became a dad again at the age of 79
Robert De Niro is a of seven. His first child, 48-year-old Raphael De Niro, followed his dad into acting before switching to a successful career in real estate. The Godfather II star’s seventh child was born in 2023, when De Niro was 79, making him one of the oldest fathers on record.
First appearing on screen in the mid-1960s, icon has enjoyed a long and hugely successful movie career, and is still very active today. He’s set to return to the world of organised crime in Alto Knights, in which he plays notorious mob bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello.
But that doesn’t mean he’s too busy to do his fair share of parenting.

“I’m an early riser,” De Niro told the Sunday Times. “I’ve got a 19-month-old baby. I spend my mornings watching [YouTuber] Ms Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle.”
He does, however, have his limits as a dad. He admits that he doesn’t change his baby’s nappy, although he insists that he did that job with some of his other kids.
De Niro told Entertainment Tonight that he knows there are challenges to come: “You know, my kids disagree with me at times, and they’re respectful.
“My daughter, she’s 11, she gives me grief sometimes and I argue with her. I adore her, but, you know. And my youngest now, that’ll be more to come. But, that’s what it is.”

The mother of De Niro’s young daughter Gia is Tiffany Chen, a 45-year-old US-born martial arts expert, who he met on the set of hit comedy The Intern in 2015.
She revealed that she was struck by a type of facial paralysis called Bell’s Palsy as she gave birth – it’s a condition that particularly affects pregnant women, for an as-yet unknown reason.
She told CBS News that De Niro tried to reassure her that he couldn’t see any change in her features, but she says she knew her face was “melting on itself.”
The biggest problem for Chen was that the paralysis prevented her from kissing her baby daughter: “The thing I did worry about was ‘What if it didn’t get better?’ Was my kid going to get made fun of for having the weird-looking mom? That’s the only time, like, vanity comes into play. It’s how it affects the child.”
