Belgium was awarded two spots on Raphael’s list, the first being the medieval city , often described as a mini-Amsterdam.

“This medieval city is known for its incredibly well preserved streets, churches and monuments, as well as its canals,” they wrote.

“Bruges is usually quite packed with tourists but in the lower season, it’s an amazing place to go for a walk in.”

Just two hours from the UK, Bruges was ranked as Europe’s most walkable city, navigable in just 29 minutes. One of the city’s most iconic landmarks is the Belfry of Bruges, a medieval bell tower located in the city centre.
