Emma Raducanu has signed up to a new tournament
is already beefing up her schedule for 2025 by signing up for another tournament.
The British No. 2 had a tough start to the season as she was the ASB Classic, with a “back niggle”.
Raducanu will be back in action at the upcoming Australian Open, and she has now added the Singapore Tennis Open to her calendar.
The WTA 250 event takes place from January 27 to February 2 at the Kallang Tennis Hub.
Raducanu is part of a strong line-up, which includes fellow Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin. World No. 14 Anna Kalinskaya, Elise Mertens and Wang Xinyu will also compete in Singapore.
“The player field is looking good for the tournament, and I believe we are going to see some great matches in both singles and doubles,” said co-tournament director Laura Ceccarelli.
Raducanu has never competed in Singapore but she enjoyed a training block in the country two years ago, using the facilities at the Tanglin Club.

“We worked, got stuck in (literally..), enjoyed the great culture, improved and had so much fun here,” she wrote at the time.
“Thank you to everyone’s warm welcome, you made it even more special. I’ll be back!!”
The Singapore Tennis Open announcement comes days after Raducanu withdrew from her first tournament of the season in Auckland. The world No. 56 suffered a setback before Christmas and didn’t recover in time to compete in the WTA 250 event.
She said: “I tried my best to be ready. I love Auckland and the fans here but unfortunately picked up a back niggle and won’t be ready in time.”
But Raducanu appears after playing just 13 tour events and two Billie Jean King Cup ties in 2024.
The 22-year-old – who previously worked with Maria Sharapova and – to her team during the off-season.
After confirming the new addition to her team, she said: “I want to play more than I did this year.
“And I appointed Yutaka because I really wanted to spend more time and energy on my fitness. I think now with my setup, I’m in a place where I can continue work on the road.
“With my tennis, I’m in a pretty good spot. I feel like I just want to see how much I can do, fulfill my potential. I’m curious about what my level can get to. I really want to play more. And I think a big part of that is just staying healthy.”
