fans have branded star Gerald Cooper a “national treasure” as they showered him with support following an emotional update.

Last year, Amazon Prime viewers were left devastated after found out that his fellow farmer and co-star had been diagnosed with prostate cancer while filming the third series.

After receiving the news, the farmer was noticeably absent from most episodes while he attended hospital appointments as he started treatment.

By the end of the series, the former Top Gear host revealed that the 74-year-old had beaten cancer after several radiotherapy sessions.

Since then, the TV personality has been raising money for Prostate UK following all the help and support they provided him during his treatment.

Now, the official Clarkson’s Farm account has issued an update on how the star has been getting on in the first week of 2025.

Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – they shared a picture of the farmer with his doting wife as they posed beside a beautiful horse.

They captioned the post: “[alarm emoji] Fantastic news! [alarm emoji] Gerald’s charity syndicate has raised an impressive £28,500 for @ProstateUK [blue heart emoji].

“A very happy Gerald pictured below with his lovely wife, shortly after receiving the news. A heartwarming moment for all! [heart emoji].”

It didn’t take long before fans flooded to the comments to share their messages of support online. One user penned: “Good stuff. He is swiftly turning into a national treasure” as another gushed: “Well done Gerald and the syndicate [two heart emojis].”

A third echoed: “Congratulations on the fantastic donation results!” as a fourth chimed in with: “Well done Sir Gerald (if anyone deserves a gong it is Gerald) for being a wonderful human being!!”

Another added: “This is what big cogs do for little cogs in the prostate cancer community. Keep on raising funds and spreading awareness Gerald.” During the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm, Gerald took viewers on a journey following his health battle.

In the final episode, Jeremy reflected in a voiceover: “Yep, it has been another tumultuous year, but as is now customary, Team Diddly Squat gathered to mark it passing with a picnic in the woods with one of my lesser triumphs” as he pointed to the unfinished dam.

He added: “We have had our usual year of rows, bad weather, disappointments, and deaths, but let us look at it this way, I became a grandfather for the first time, and you became a father again [pointing at Kaleb] and you, the G-Dog, beat the big C.”

Gerlad was forced to fight back tears as he gushed: “I would like to thank everybody, all the film crew, and all my friends here. All of you have been so kind to me and my family and thank you very much.”
