Urfan Sharif and partner Beinash Batool were convicted of Sara’s murder
The murdering dad who killed 10-year-old Sara Sharif has reportedly been attacked in prison and had his throat slashed.
Two inmates at HMP Belmarsh ambushed child killer Urfan Sharif, 43, in his cell on New Year’s Day just weeks into his life sentence for murder, according to .
It’s understood Sharif remains in the prison hospital and sources told outlet he was in a “very bad way” after the two prisoners used a jagged tuna lid in the attack.
Sharif was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years for the murder of Sara who suffered “unimaginable pain, misery and anxiety” as she was repeatedly beaten, burned, bitten and restrained at the family home in Woking, Surrey, a court heard last month.
A source told The Sun: “Urfan was sliced up badly in his cell by two others who rushed in. It was planned and they used a makeshift weapon — made from the lid of a tin of tuna.

“He was sliced in the neck and face, and is still in healthcare and in a very bad way.
“He was lucky to survive, has had to have stitches and will have scars as a permanent reminder of the attack. The guards tried to keep him safe because he obviously had a target on his back after the case was such big news.
The source added Sharif had “tried to keep his head down” since arriving at the jail, adding: “Inmates were not happy he is in there with them and, although the other prisoners are in for heinous , a lot of them don’t like people who attack children.”
The Prison Service said in a statement: “Police are investigating an assault on a prisoner at HMP Belmarsh on January 1. It would be inappropriate to comment while they investigate.”
A Met spokesman said the force was investigating “an allegation that a prisoner was assaulted at Belmarsh”.
They added: “The 43-year-old suffered non life-threatening injuries.”

Urfan Sharif, 42, and her step-mum Beinash Batool, 30, had tried to cover up the abuse of Sara, twice taking her out of school, and then fled to Pakistan after she died, a court heard last month.
In December the couple were jailed for life for Sara’s murder, with Sharif handed a minimum term of 40 years and Batool given 33 years. Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik, 29, who was found guilty of causing or allowing her death, was jailed for 16 years.
HMP Belmarsh, in South London, is a Category A prison housing a number of murderers, including Ali Harbi Ali, the killer of MP David Amess.
