Princess Charlotte has a royal ‘best friend’ in Mia Tindall
, who is the eldest daughter of Mike and Zara Tindall, was spotted pulling hilarious faces during a rare family outing at the Cheltenham races on Wednesday.
Welcoming in the new year, Zara and Mike braved the rainy weather as – including Mia’s siblings Lena, six, and Lucas, three – for a day at the Cheltenham racecourse.
Mia, 10, has often been referred to as Princess Charlotte’s royal “best friend” after the two have been spotted laughing together at royal events – including at the Christmas Day walkabout last week.
Just over a year older than nine-year-old Charlotte, Mia will celebrate her 11th birthday on January 17.
Channelling her inner Prince Louis, Mia could be seen having the time of her life as she pulled an array of hilarious faces whilst watching the races unfold on New Year’s Day.

Clearly a fan of horse racing, Mia was also seen gasping and clapping as she celebrated a major win at the races.
Dressed in a navy dress emblazoned with white bows, the young royal was seen delightedly throwing her arms into the air while cheering from afar.
Much like their older sister, Lena and Lucas also looked to be in high spirits at they joined the rare family outing.
Although the young trio have been spotted at a few royal events, Princess Anne’s three youngest grandchildren have been largely shielded from the royal spotlight.

Displaying her bond with her royal cousin, Mia and Charlotte were spotted chatting as they made their way to the annual service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham on Christmas Day.
The young royal was also pictured walking and chatting away to Charlotte at last year’s walkabout – even holding onto her little brother Louis’s hand as the family walked past the adoring spectators.
Last week, Mia was even spotted laughing with the Princess of Wales. Kate, 42, even sweetly putting her arm around the youngster, who gave the future Queen a big grin.
