has surprised fans by , with her first post having been released on New Year’s Day.

Marking the start of 2025, the 43-year-old uploaded a simple reel which showed her running across a Californian beach and bending down to write ‘2025’ in the wet sand.

Although her handle for her account is simply, ‘meghan’, many have noticed that the name of the account was quietly changed to ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’.

Meghan, who now resides in Monetcito with and their two children, became a member of the Royal Family in 2018. Following her fairytale wedding to in May 2018, the pair then became known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Although it has been almost five years since their final official royal engagement, Meghan and Harry are still referred to as the Duek and Duchess of Sussex on the Royal Family’s website.

While they stepped back from royal duties and, at the time, agreed to no longer go by their HRH titles, the couple each kept their Sussex titles.

During an interview for ’60 Minutes’ in January 2023, which coincided with the release of his memoir Spare, was asked whether the pair should have been allowed to keep their title – or whether they should “renounce” them.

To which, the 40-year-old then told Anderson Cooper, “And what difference would that make?”
