Boulter and De Minaur had been dreading their face-off at the United Cup. Although they didn’t play against each other in the mixed doubles, they still had to cheer against one another during the singles matches.

But team loyalties went out of the window for a few seconds when the ATP No. 9 reached for the ball while positioned at the net during the doubles contest, tapping it in for a volley winner.

The British No. 1 was clearly impressed, pursing her lips together in disbelief. De Minaur and Olivia Gadecki went on to beat Olivia Nicholls and Charles Broom 6-3 7-6(3).

However, it was Boulter and team GB who qualified for the quarter-final after topping the standings in Group F, just outdoing Australia and Argentina.
