Katie Boulter has already explained how apprehensive she is about the prospect of facing her fiance, Alex de Minaur, at the United Cup in Australia. The 28-year-old Briton, alongside Charles Broom, blazed through her first match in the mixed doubles segment of the tournament against Argentina, achieving scores of 7-6(4) and 7-5 over Maria Carle and Tomas Etcheverry.

Thankfully for Boulter, it looks unlikely that she will directly face De Minaur during Wednesday’s game. Captioning the post, the couple wrote: “We’ve been keeping a small secret…” and friends, family and fans were quick to take to the comments section to share their congratulatory messages – including fellow tennis stars like Ebden, Roberto Agut, and Paula Badosa. It is not certain as of yet when the couple will tie the knot.

A sweet admission

Boulter has previously credited De Minaur in positively pushing her ‘boundaries’ to help her become one of the world’s best tennis players. Ranked 24 by the WTA in the world of doubles at present, Boulter has showered her fiance with praise for helping her level up her game to unprecedented heights.

Speaking to , she said: “Anyone who has watched our journey has seen us grow together on the court and off the court. For me, it’s such a lovely feeling to know that everything is going well on the court and we can still enjoy time away from the court together.

“I feel like we’ve really helped each other in so many different ways. Firstly, he’s there for advice. He’s got some credence, so I have to take his advice on board, and I don’t mind listening to him once in a while. I don’t know if he takes it well from me, but he knows what he’s doing.

“He’s already been on the journey that I’m on right now. I’ve probably been on it a bit longer, so I have a slightly different perspective, which I can help him with, and he can help me with the ranking side of things. It’s pushed my boundaries even more and given me belief that I can be where he’s at right now.”
